In Kingham:
The Kingham Plough (5 minutes walk)
Our favourite spot in the village, The Plough is a superb gastro-pub offering local cuisine for lunch and dinner. “…frankly the pub I found is so impressive it is worth the three hours travelling – hell I’d probably even walk it.”
Simon Davis writing in The Evening Standard
The Tollgate Inn (5 minutes walk)
A widely renowned restaurant allows you to sample some of the finest food in the Cotswolds in wonderfully stylish surroundings - the same menus may also be enjoyed less formally in the bar and lounge areas. When weather allows, al-fresco dining takes place on the front terraced garden and in the rear courtyard.
The Mill House (10 minutes walk)
The Mill offers a wide choice of dining options. The Mill Brook Room features an a la carte menu developed by Giles Lee, using his experience at L’Ortolan in Shinfield and the French Horn at Sonning. If you prefer something simpler, they offer a two course lunch menu in the comfort of the Mill Stream Bar, which in the winter has the warmth of a blazing log fire in the inglenook fireplace. They serve light snacks, cream teas and a wide selection of coffees and teas in the Cotswold Lounge and, in the summer, on the terrace overlooking the trout stream. |
